Turf Lounge, Toronto

A place where Bay street comes to play” πŸ™‚ Had a Summerlicious dinner there and have mix feelings about this place. Food was good but I wouldn’t say they were so good that I would go back. Atmosphere is not bad either but not a place I would go with friends or coworkers to hang out and have a drink or two on Friday after work. If you love to watch horse races and you are a gambler, I guess Turf Lounge is the place to be in downtown…but certainly not for me.

A Weekend trip to Ottawa, the Capital of Canada!

Do you know why Ottawa was chosen as the Capital of Canada?

  • It was the only settlement of any significant size located right on the border of Canada East and Canada West.
  • Ottawa was (then ~1812) surrounded by a dense forest far from the US border.
  • Central location; easy transportation via the Ottawa River to Canada East, and the Rideau Canal to Canada West.
  • the small size town made it less likely that politically motivated mobs could go on a rampage and destroy government buildings. ^^;
