Toronto Buskerfest is on now.

Buskerfest is on now from August 21 to 24 in Toronto. To be honest, the event doesn’t have the same excitement and fun feel as when it used to be in the St. Lawrence Market area (Market Street from Front Street to The Esplanade) but its for the good cause so check it out if you are in town this week.

A Weekend trip to Ottawa, the Capital of Canada!

Do you know why Ottawa was chosen as the Capital of Canada?

  • It was the only settlement of any significant size located right on the border of Canada East and Canada West.
  • Ottawa was (then ~1812) surrounded by a dense forest far from the US border.
  • Central location; easy transportation via the Ottawa River to Canada East, and the Rideau Canal to Canada West.
  • the small size town made it less likely that politically motivated mobs could go on a rampage and destroy government buildings. ^^;

Guu, Toronto

If you are looking for a unique, fun… and LOUD Japanese fusion restaurant in downtown Toronto, Guu is the place to check out. 😉 Portion is small and dishes are a bit pricey though so if you are super hungry and looking for a cheap place to eat, save this place for the next time.
