Cherry blossom @ High Park in Toronto

High Park in Toronto, Cherry Blossom
Cherry blossom in High Park Toronto
The first Japanese Somei-Yoshino Cherry Tree was planted in High Park in 1959 and it was presented to the citizens of Toronto by the citizens of Metropolitan Tokyo. These trees are the earliest to bloom and are much loved for their fluffy pink and white flowers. Another 34 Cherry trees were donated to High Park in 2001 from the Sakura project.

Apparently Cherry tree flowers only last for about a week to a week & a half if the weather holds up, so you should go visit soon if you are in Toronto area. They are so beautiful and simply reminds us that Spring is finally here! ^^
